Saying Goodbye Is Never Easy
Today the Indiana Pacers traded Danny Granger and a second round draft pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. Great trade for the Pacers. A trade that improves their chances at winning an NBA Championship. A trade that no writer or expert is saying the Pacers shouldn’t have done. A trade that will help the struggling bench become that new and improved bench the Pacers have been searching for the past few seasons. Its just a damn good trade that Larry Bird pulled off.
And even knowing all this, I am still saddened. For it was Danny Granger who was the lone beacon of light in some of the darkest days for Pacers fans. It was Danny Granger who gave the Pacers something to cheer about when no one else on the roster did. It was Danny Granger who refused to bow to LeBron James ever, instilling that tough grit that this roster has.

WHY I'M ROOTING FOR THE BRONCOS AND YOU SHOULD TOO
We all did it growing up. Playing football in the backyard, counting down the clock in our heads as we drop back, looking to the imaginary endzone where we find our friend, open, waiting for that game winning touchdown throw as time expires. And as he catches it, we made the call, announcing ourselves as the greatest of all time.
Greatness is something every professional athlete strives for. Which is why this Sunday, when the Broncos and Seahawks battle for the NFL title, I’ll be rooting for one of the greatest stories ever in Peyton Manning.
“Is Peyton Manning the greatest quarterback of all time?” has been asked for years. It was just a matter of time before he had the numbers. But for awhile he lacked the post-season success. And while he did win the big game, he’s only won one. So Peyton is lumped in with other NFL greats like Montana, Marino, Brady and more.

Is it Nostalgia?
Why are we so afraid to say how good LeBron James truly is? Why can't he be better than Michael? Is it nostalgia?
Why kids are watching the pacers again
Growing up in the 90’s and falling in love with the game of basketball, like many other kids I gravitated to the greatest of all time, Michael Jordan. He was every where. And he was amazing to watch. But wanting to be different, there was someone else for me to look too. Someone who got under Jordan’s skin. Someone wasn’t afraid of Jordan. Someone who would hit game winners over him.
As a kid I had this little NBA book featuring different NBA stars. Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Robinson and this tall, skinny shooter Reggie Miller. Something in that book, maybe it was the Flo-Jo jerseys, got me to pay attention to Miller at a young age. And what I saw then made me a Pacers fan for life.
